Who we are
Rand Gymnastic Club (“Rand Gym”, “we”, “us”) teaches gymnastics to boys and girls, and to toddlers with a parent, at the Roosevelt Park Recreation Centre, Anton Van Wouw Street, corner Preller Drive, Franklin Roosevelt Park, Randburg, 2195. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what your rights are.
For anything about your information, contact Jane on 083 523 0017 or janefidgym@gmail.com.
What this website collects
This website has no forms, accounts, comments, online booking or online payments, so you don’t enter any personal information on it. We don’t use analytics or advertising trackers, and the website doesn’t set cookies for visitors.
Like all websites, the servers that host this site automatically keep basic technical records, such as your IP address, your browser and the pages requested. These are kept for security and to keep the site running. We don’t use them to identify you.
Information you give us when you get in touch
You can contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email. When you do, we receive what you choose to send us, which is usually:
- your name and your phone number or email address
- your child’s first name and age
- which class you are interested in, and any questions you ask
If your child joins a class, we also keep the details we need to run it safely, such as your child’s name and age, your contact details, and anything you tell us about your child’s health or needs that our coaches should know.
How we use your information
- to reply to your message and arrange a trial class
- to run classes and keep you up to date, for example about term dates, class changes and T-shirt orders
- to keep children safe in class
- to meet our legal obligations
We only use your information for these reasons. We never use it to market other businesses. We process it because you asked us to, because it is needed to run your child’s class, because you have given us your consent, or because the law requires it.
Children’s information
The law gives children’s information extra protection. We only deal with a child’s information through a parent, grandparent or guardian, and only with their consent. We don’t publish photos or names of children on this website without a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information. We only share it with the coaches and helpers who need it to run classes, with service providers who help us run the club and this website (such as our website host and email provider), and where the law requires us to.
Other services you may meet
- Google Maps. The map on our Contact page is provided by Google. When it loads, Google may collect information such as your IP address and set its own cookies. See Google’s privacy policy.
- WhatsApp. If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp handles your message under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Links to other sites. Links to Google Maps, Facebook or TikTok take you to other websites with their own privacy policies.
- Fonts. The fonts on this website are stored on our own server, so your browser does not contact Google Fonts.
How long we keep your information
We keep information only for as long as we need it for the reasons above, or for as long as the law requires. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make sure it can no longer identify anyone.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, such as keeping our phones, email accounts and records secure and limiting who can see them. No way of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we can’t promise absolute security. If we find out that your information has been accessed without permission, we will tell you and the Information Regulator, as the law requires.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you can ask us:
- what information we hold about you
- to correct or update it
- to delete it
- to stop using it, or to withdraw a consent you gave us
Ask by contacting Jane on the details above, and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
